Communication of our Continuity of Supply during the coronavirus outbreak

Communication on Continuity of Supply – 16th March 2020

General Outlook

With the coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting communities and families around the world, this is a difficult time for all of us. At Crossbows Optical, our priority remains the health and wellbeing of our employees, customers and partners. It is important to us to support how you continue to do business during this time of uncertainty.

We are closely monitoring the situation regarding COVID-19 and would like to inform you of the actions we are taking to minimise the risks and potential impact to your supply. Within Crossbows we have been applying reinforced hygiene measures for the past 2 weeks and are going to increase these this week, the key measures being:

  • All aspects of our operation will ensure a safe 3 metre separation distance
  • There is ample sanitising equipment available and a rigorous cleaning regime
  • All external meetings will be held via video conferences
  • We are trialing our office-based staff working from home

Our core objective is to maintain our unrivalled service levels, in particular ensuring that we minimise the impact on our freeform customer’s technical support and aim to fulfill our factory orders in reasonable timescales.

Freeform Designs Supply

Our software supply is robust and our freeform clients should feel no impact upon the high level of customer service we provide.

If the situation worsens in Northern Ireland, or the government guidance tightens, all of our engineers and support staff will be able to perform their duties through working from home and our clients will continue to receive technical support within 1 working day of any software or design requests.

Glass Moulds, Metal Inserts and Glass Lenses Supply

Our factory remains fully operational and is currently meeting all of its promised delivery dates, however, it would be inappropriate for us to claim that it will continue to remain open and at full strength as our number one priority is the welfare of our employees and customers. We will continue to monitor the situation and we assure you that we will be putting all of our efforts into reducing the impact of the coronavirus and continuing to provide the best possible service.

Many thanks for your understanding in this challenging environment, if you need any clarification please contact myself or Jonathan.
