TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PRODUCTION FACILITY
The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified and is impacting economies, organisations, communities, and people globally.
The UK Government have stepped up measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus and save lives. Crossbows Optical supports these measures and have now temporarily closed our production facility with immediate effect. This is based on guidance from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government and also our responsibility for the health, safety and well-being of our employees and industry partners.
We will continue to monitor the situation, with the first review planned for 3 weeks’ time in line with government advice, and we are already planning how to maximise capacity on our return to production to ensure that the impact to our clients is minimal and we will fulfil all orders as soon as possible.
Crossbows office staff and Freeform support teams are largely working from home to prevent the spread of the coronavirus while continuing to service Freeform customers’ requests and continue our software development.
2 Key Points
- Freeform designs and software will remain unaffected
- Glass mould, metal insert and glass lens production is on hold and will be under constant review to get back up and running as soon as is safe to do so
Our website and social media channels (LinkedIn and Facebook) will keep you up-to-date with any changes to the situation.
Crossbows Optical has a rich heritage in the ophthalmic industry since 1947 with a strong reputation for supporting its global customer base. We will meet this challenge head on alongside our loyal clients and partners and look forward to a brighter future.
Many thanks for your understanding in this challenging environment and we apologise to our glass mould, metal insert and glass lens clients for any inconvenience this may cause, if you need any clarification please contact myself or Jonathan.
In the meantime, stay safe, protect your families and community.
